Hello! I am a Cornell University Biomedical Engineering graduate (B.S) with 8 years of tutoring experience and a passion for helping students learn, improve their grades, and gain confidence in themselves. Having benefited from wonderful tutors throughout my own education, I know firsthand how meaningful the right guidance can be.
At Cornell University, I worked as a teaching facilitator for engineering mathematics courses, leading collaborative learning sessions and helping students develop strong problem-solving skills in challenging STEM subjects.
I have tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students in Mathematics, Science, Spanish, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Spelling.
Over the years, I have worked with many students who came into our first session convinced they simply "weren't good at math" or lacked the skills needed to succeed. I understand how discouraging it can feel when a student lacks confidence or feels embarrassed to ask questions. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is watching those same students realize that their struggles are not a reflection of their potential. With patience, practice, and continuous support, I've seen students slowly but surely tackle challenges independently, and develop skills they once thought were out of reach.
I'd love to share a teaching philosophy that has shaped both how I learn and how I teach. Growing up in the dojo doing Taekwondo, I often heard the phrase, "Practice makes permanent," rather than "practice makes perfect." The idea is that the habits we build through consistent practice stay with us long term. As a tutor, I strive to help students build those strong habits from the start so they can approach future challenges with confidence and independence.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to discuss how I can best support you/your child in reaching their academic goals. Happy studying!
