Hello, I'm Tal
I hold a B.A. in Art and Design from Columbia College Chicago, and I bring over seven years of teaching and tutoring experience working with students from ages 6 through high school. Throughout my career, I have supported learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels, helping them strengthen academic skills in math and English through creativity that builds confidence. My background includes teaching in classroom settings as well as individualized one-on-one sessions, allowing me to adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and needs. I focus on creating a structured but encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace. Aside from being the school's lead ESOL instructor, I happily provide after-school assistance with homework to first graders.
In addition to academic tutoring, I have worked as a sports counselor in a summercamp and as a graphic design instructor for adults. I am known for a caring, patient approach and for using effective, student-centered tutoring methods that break down complex material into clear, manageable steps. My goal is always to build not only subject understanding but also motivation, independence, and self-confidence so students can succeed both in school and beyond.
