As your tutor I will first evaluate your needs, and then design a personalized plan in order to ensure that you see meaningful results within your specified time frame. I like to use relatable examples and ideas in order to make difficult concepts easier for students to understand. I like to look at students' specific needs and preferred ways of learning. That way I can adapt myself to them and help them relate to the subject. I believe that any successful tutoring plan requires providing each student with personalized strategies for learning information, internalizing concepts, and performing well on exams.

I've been tutoring students for over five years, mainly at the high school and college levels. I have helped students prepare for the SAT, ACT and LSAT. I also provide tutoring services in other areas, including math, science, and reading, from the elementary to college level. I help students perform better in class and on exams by giving them more efficient methods of learning and studying. All of my experience in achieving top grades throughout my own education has helped me to become a better tutor who can give students the tools they need to succeed.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish and offer personalized lessons for students of all ages. I offer different rates based upon the subject, and sometimes offer promotions and discounts, including group rates and referral discounts. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

ACT Reading

I scored in the 96th percentile on the SAT reading section on the first try. I have always excelled in reading comprehension, and can help students develop strategies for identifying main ideas, authors' perspectives, and other important aspects of reading materials. By helping students acquire these skills, they can feel more confident in taking the exam. I have 2-3 years experience in helping students perform better in this area.
ACT Science,

ACT Science

The ACT Science exam is designed to test a certain set of skills, including the interpretation, analysis, and evaluation of information. I tutor in this area by providing the student with effective strategies for reading, proccessing, and evaluating data. I teach students the reasoning skills they need for the exam, along with efficient ACT test-taking strategies. I have 2-3 years experience tutoring in this area.
LSAT,

LSAT

I scored in the 160's on the LSAT on my first try, without preparation, and am currently a law student. Since then, I have acquired several strategies for the different sections of the LSAT, scoring 170+ on practice tests. I can help students to use these same strategies in order to not be intimidated by the exam. I have extensive training in symbolic logic, and can help students with the analytical and logical reasoning sections by introducing them to useful logical concepts and relationships. I can also provide students with efficient time management strategies in order to make them feel more in control when they take the exam. I have two years experience in helping students with the exam, specializing in the logic-related sections.
PSAT,

PSAT

I scored in the 96th percentile on the SAT on the first try, and since then, I've used my experience and knowledge in order to help others succeed as well. I help students prepare for the PSAT by focusing on two major goals: skill development and mastery of test-taking strategies. I start out by helping the student understand and master the different concepts that appear on the several PSAT sections, including Math, Reading, and Writing and Language. I then offer several PSAT/SAT-specific test-taking strategies in order help that student succeed on exam day.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I have always had an affinity for math. When tutoring students, I like to use intuitive, real-world examples and ideas in order to help students understand, (not just memorize) mathematical formulas and concepts. By putting myself into the mindset of the student, I can explain math in a way that is different than the average teacher, helping students to relate with and internalize the concepts. I have been head of my class in Algebras I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I, and I have used this educational experience to help students improve their own performance. I've been tutoring students in math for over five years.

Crystal Clear Persuasion!

Once again another good session with Crystal. The most difficult part of the tutoring lesson is when it ends! It's enjoyable to finally get help in areas I've struggled for many years with. The eye opening tips and strategies she offers is addicting! Her tutoring has helped decipher and uncover my weaknesses and bad habits that will surely help me in future test taking. Thank you for that one on one attention. : )

She is extremely helpful and patient. Definitely was able to help me understand concepts I was having a ton of trouble with before. I would recommend her to any math student, especially if they're taking logic.

Great tutor

Crystal is patient and transparent in her LSAT prep lessons. She's straightforward and gets down to business. After the first lesson, I knew right away that if I gave it my 120%, I will be successful. And that's the plan. Plus, her price rate doesn't break a bank unlike other tutors. I highly recommend her.
