I’m currently a senior at the University of Florida pursuing two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Information Systems and an undergraduate certificate in AI Fundamentals and Applications. Since high school, I have been deeply interested in mathematics. Throughout college, I have realized how much I enjoy breaking down mathematical concepts to students in a simple way. My goal is to make my students feel good about math and help them gain confidence in their math skills. With my help, you can get an A in your math class!

I conduct my tutoring sessions through Zoom. I share my screen with the student, and we go over the material and do practice problems together. While doing this, I break down the concepts in the problem step-by-step. I am very patient, and I will gladly explain a concept in detail to make sure it makes sense to the student. I encourage active participation from the student in order to provide a supportive learning environment. My goal is to help my students gain confidence in their math abilities. I am excited to work with you to achieve your academic goals!

Some of my experience includes (1) Learning Assistant for Calculus 1 at the University of Florida, (2) Learning Assistant for Calculus 2 at the University of Florida, (3) Data Analytics Internship at MadCow Digital in Ireland, (4) Research Assistant in biological mathematics at the University of Florida, (5) Research Assistant in posterior modeling using mathematical methods at the University of Florida, and (6) Teaching Assistant for International Business at the University of Florida.

I have a strong background in Algebra 1 and enjoy helping students move from frustration to confidence. Whether it’s mastering linear equations, factoring quadratics, or understanding graphs, I focus on explaining the “why” behind each step. I always adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and aim to make math feel logical and approachable.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it builds on the foundations of Algebra 1 and dives deeper into problem-solving and real-world applications. I enjoy helping students feel comfortable with topics like quadratic and exponential functions, logarithms, and systems of equations. My goal is to make complex ideas feel intuitive and to show that math can actually be enjoyable once it starts making sense!
AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

The AMC is where math becomes an adventure! I love helping students discover clever problem-solving tricks and build the confidence to tackle challenging questions. I’m currently a senior at the University of Florida pursuing two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Information Systems and an undergraduate certificate in AI Fundamentals and Applications. My approach emphasizes problem-solving strategies, logical reasoning, and creative thinking rather than memorization. I guide students through past AMC problems, teach time management techniques, and help them develop a deep understanding of core topics like algebra, combinatorics, and geometry. My goal is to make math competitions both challenging and rewarding.
Calculus

Calculus

I have a strong background in Calculus 1 and enjoy helping students master the foundations of calculus. Whether it’s finding derivatives, understanding rates of change, or applying integrals to real problems, I focus on breaking down each concept step by step. My goal is to make students confident in both the mechanics and the reasoning behind calculus, turning what seems complex into something logical and approachable.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have a strong background in Differential Equations and enjoy guiding students through both the computational and conceptual aspects of the course. Whether it’s solving first-order and second-order ODEs, working with Laplace transforms, or modeling dynamic systems, I focus on building deep understanding rather than memorization. My teaching style emphasizes clear reasoning, practical examples, and connections to other areas of math and science.
Finance

Finance

Business Finance is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it connects numbers to real-world decision-making. I love helping students understand key topics like time value of money, interest rates, cash flow, and risk vs. return. I enjoy helping students develop both their quantitative and analytical skills. I aim to help students not only succeed academically but also understand how financial principles apply in real business settings.
Geometry

Geometry

Geometry is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it helps students see math in a visual, creative way. I love showing how angles, shapes, and theorems all connect to form logical patterns. My teaching style focuses on clear explanations and step-by-step reasoning, helping students build confidence with proofs, transformations, and problem-solving. From parallel lines and triangle congruence to circles and coordinate geometry, I focus on helping students understand why the rules work, not just how to apply them.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Pre-Algebra is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it’s where students start to see how math connects together. I love helping students build a strong foundation with fractions, decimals, ratios, and equations so they can feel confident moving into Algebra. My lessons focus on making math clear, encouraging, and even fun - no stress, just step-by-step progress!
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it bridges the gap between Algebra and Calculus, which is where math really starts coming together. I love helping students master trigonometry, functions, and analytical geometry in a way that feels logical and approachable. I tailor my lessons to each student’s learning style, ensuring they not only understand the material but feel prepared for success in Calculus.
SAT Math

SAT Math

SAT Math can feel challenging, but with the right approach, it becomes a puzzle you can learn to master. I focus on core topics such as algebra, functions, geometry, and data analysis while teaching methods to improve speed and accuracy. My sessions emphasize building confidence through clear explanations, targeted practice, and test-smart strategies that turn weaknesses into strengths.
Trigonometry

Knowledgable and relatable

My daughter felt comfortable working with Hristina, understood her explanations, and walked away with an increased understanding of the subject matter. Thanks Hristina! Updated. Hristina has now tutored both my children, a high school student and a college student. Both students prefer working with Hristina. She is patient, explains math in a way they understand, and relates to them better than other tutors have. Side note. My jr just scored a 99% on her most recent Algebra II chapter test. THANKS HRISTINA!!

Passion for Math! Patient, Dedicated, Wonderful Tutor!

Hristina reviewed and explained thoroughly Algebra 1 work given by my child's math teacher. She is patient and repeated concepts until understanding was obtained. Hristina is passionate about math! We've done in-person tutoring sessions for many years, but this was our first online experience. POSITIVE outcome and will definitely schedule again!

What makes Hristina a good tutor would be how in depth she goes with each problem and if you need extra help she will gladly go back so you can understand the material.

Hristina taught me very well, she helped me understand the material I was having trouble with which I really appreciated. The things I liked about her tutoring would be how she went step by step due to how I needed extra help. She has helped me accomplish getting to know more of the concept on inequalities.
