Hello! I am a graduate of two undergraduate degrees. The first is in graphic design, and the most recent is philosophy. I graduated summa cum laude, winning senior of distinction and every scholarship offered in philosophy. I worked as a tutor during college and was a guest lecturer for philosophy. I will be attending by graduate school after taking a gap year to pursue a Ph.D in philosophy.
I find teaching to be a tremendously rewarding experience and I thrive off the success of my students. I believe that to teach well, you must first understand the subject well. Any subject I offer to tutor I will be extremely familiar with. I also believe that to teach well you must be passionate about the subject. A genuine love of the subjects I teach allows my students to better connect with the material. Finally, I believe that patience, understanding, and empathy are required for guiding a student to success. By understanding and empathizing with a students circumstances, and by being patient while working within those constraints, the subjects I teach become enjoyable.
A love of learning and a passion for the subjects I teach is what I seek to instill in my students. I believe that by helping a student become engaged and passionate, the learning process is easier long after my services are no longer needed. I aim to reinforce the same approach to learning that I carry which is best embodied by Socrates when he said, “The unexamined life is not worth living”. I look forward to working with you!
