Hello! My name is Richard. I have a master's degree in science from Central Michigan University. I have lived in Europe, South America, and Korea. I have taught adults, teenagers, and children from all over the world. I think classroom education should be positive, inspiring, and interesting. My teaching style focuses on the development of the student using a variety of teaching methods. In class, I pay attention to the correct pronunciation of words and the structure of written sentences. I also incorporate grammar and word extensions into lessons. Learning English is more than just about structure, it is about comprehension.
I currently teach ESL and have TESOL AND TEFL certifications. I have two advanced degrees combined with 22+ years of tutoring and mentoring experience. Prior to teaching ESL, I spent 20 years in an administrative career where my job revolved around proper grammar, writing, and publishing products. I have an extensive track record in public speaking. I am one of those rare individuals that actually enjoy talking in front of a large group of people.
English is a form of art. I have learned the rules and how to apply them. More independently, my experiences have taught me how to interact with others and establish communication. Learning how to interact and communicate is what allows people to succeed and move forward in life. These are the life lessons that I have learned and will teach my students. I look forward to helping you with the next step in your education!
