I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades there in the time I have worked there. I established a mathematics enrichment class called FUNctional Mathematics while there for students in grades 1 - 7 which meets weekly during the school year and during the summer months.
I have been tutoring mathematics and writing in one-to-one settings for thirty years. It is the best format for getting to learn about a student's individual needs and for maximizing student gains. Whether for remedial, on grade level, or advanced work tutoring provides an ideal structure for learning about a student's skills and helping them grow in the academic direction they seek to improve in.
I have been teaching mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels for 39 years. In addition to work in the classroom instructing a wide variety of levels I have established a private math enrichment class and done 1 - 1 tutoring sessions for thirty years.
I work with students in writing at their instructional level and help students improve their ability to communicate
through a structured approach involving pre-organization, drafting, editing and final products.
