I graduated from Duke University with a degree in Statistics, and in high school, I took 22 AP courses and earned a 1580 on the SAT and a 36 on the ACT. I have been tutoring for over 10 years and have a proven track record of improving academic performance in students ranging from elementary school through to college. My experience includes academic subjects at a variety of levels, test preparation, and college and academic consulting. Whether you are a student looking for support in a challenging subject or a parent looking for the right tutor for your child, I prioritize taking the time to understand the individual behind the goals.

Over the years, I have developed a very student-centered approach to tutoring. Rather than simply showing a student how to get through a particular homework problem or test question, I first try to understand how they think, how they learn best, and where their understanding starts to break down. From there, I tailor my explanations and work with them to fill those gaps in a way that builds genuine conceptual understanding. I want students to leave a session feeling that they understand why something works, not just that they know how to get the right answer.

I have exclusively worked with students one-on-one, which allows me to adapt each session to the student's pace, personality, and goals. After more than a decade of tutoring, I have worked with students with very different backgrounds, learning styles, and levels of confidence, and I genuinely enjoy finding the approach that works for each individual. My goal is to make students feel capable, supported, and increasingly independent while giving parents confidence that their child is receiving thoughtful, individualized attention.
