I'm a Data Science student at the University of Florida, and math and test prep have been a constant thread through my own education — I scored a 1500 on the SAT (730 Reading, 770 Math) and earned 5s on 14 AP exams, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics 1, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science A and Principles, and AP Statistics. That matters for tutoring because I've actually sat in the classes and taken the exams I'm helping students prepare for, so I know where the real conceptual sticking points show up versus where it's just pacing or unfamiliarity with question format.

I've been tutoring since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school in math and reading, and I currently tutor SAT prep professionally. My approach depends on the student and subject: for younger students working on reading or foundational math, I focus on building confidence and making sure they understand the "why" behind a method rather than memorizing steps. For SAT prep specifically, I work backward from a student's practice test results to figure out whether a wrong answer came from a content gap, a careless error, or a timing problem, because those get fixed in completely different ways. I also draw on classroom-adjacent teaching experience — I've taught Python and Java fundamentals to high schoolers as a coding club instructor, breaking down technical material for students with a wide range of starting skill levels, a skill that transfers directly to explaining math concepts clearly.

Outside of tutoring, I bring a background in project management and applied technical work — I led a large student organization with a seven-figure-adjacent budget and built an automation tool used in a real accounting workflow — so I treat tutoring the same way: set a clear goal, track progress against it, and adjust the plan when something isn't working rather than sticking rigidly to a script. My goal with any student is measurable improvement, not just showing up to sessions.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I scored 730 on the SAT Reading and Writing section, which tests the same grammar, punctuation, and rhetorical skills that make up the ACT English section, so my prep experience carries over directly. I've been tutoring reading and writing since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, and I tutor SAT prep professionally at SC Tutoring where grammar and usage rules come up constantly. My approach is to teach the small set of recurring grammar rules the ACT tests repeatedly, like comma usage, subject-verb agreement, and transitions, since most students lose points to a handful of patterns rather than needing to know every grammar rule in English. I also focus on pacing, since ACT English moves quickly and rewards confident rule application over careful re-reading.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 770 on the SAT Math section, and the ACT Math section tests overlapping content, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, with a calculator allowed throughout, so my math background transfers directly. I've completed AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics 1 with top scores, giving me a strong foundation in the advanced algebra and trig concepts the ACT draws on. I currently tutor SAT prep professionally at SC Tutoring and have been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach is to time practice sections early on so students get comfortable with the ACT's faster pace, since most students who struggle with ACT Math already know the content but run out of time.
ACT Reading

ACT Reading

I scored 730 on the SAT Reading and Writing section, and ACT Reading draws on the same core skills: finding evidence in text, understanding main ideas, and interpreting author intent under time pressure. I've been tutoring reading since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, and I currently tutor SAT prep professionally at SC Tutoring where reading comprehension strategy is a daily focus. My approach is to teach students to preview questions before the passage when it helps, and to practice active annotation, since ACT Reading's tighter time limit punishes students who read passages the way they would for a leisurely English class. I emphasize pacing drills specifically, since the ACT gives less time per passage than the SAT does.
ACT Science

ACT Science

I earned a 5 on AP Physics 1, which trained me to read graphs, interpret experimental data, and reason through scientific procedures, exactly the skills the ACT Science section tests, since it's less about memorized content and more about data analysis under time pressure. I've been tutoring math and science since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach is to teach students to go straight to the graphs and tables first, since most ACT Science questions can be answered from the data alone without reading the experimental description in full. I also drill pacing heavily, since ACT Science has one of the tightest time-per-question ratios of any section on the test.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I earned an A in Algebra 1 as part of a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and I later earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, which means I've mastered the algebra foundations, including linear equations, functions, exponents, and factoring, that Algebra 1 is built on, well beyond the level I'm teaching. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, including foundational algebra instruction as part of that broader math tutoring. My approach is to make sure students understand why each algebraic rule works before drilling practice problems, since students who only memorize steps tend to struggle with word problems or unfamiliar formats. I focus especially on building strong habits early, since Algebra 1 is the foundation every later math course depends on.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I earned an A in Algebra 2 as part of a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and I later earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, both of which require fluency in Algebra 2 topics like exponential and logarithmic functions, polynomials, and systems of equations, so I've used this material extensively beyond the level I'm teaching. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, including Algebra 2 concepts as part of that broader instruction. My approach is to connect new Algebra 2 topics back to Algebra 1 fundamentals students already know, since most of Algebra 2 is really an extension of ideas they've seen before in a new form. I also make sure students can move fluently between graphs, equations, and tables for the same function, since that flexibility is what later math courses assume they already have.
Calculus

Calculus

I earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, along with a 770 on the SAT Math section, so I've worked through the full calculus curriculum from limits and derivatives through series and differential equations at a high level myself. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, and I currently tutor SAT prep professionally where calculus-adjacent problem solving comes up constantly. My approach is to diagnose whether a student's struggle is conceptual (they don't understand what a derivative represents) or procedural (they understand it but make errors applying it), because those require completely different fixes. I also competed in individual Calculus events for my school's Mu Alpha Theta chapter, which kept my own skills sharp under timed, competitive conditions similar to what students face on exams.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I scored a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam, demonstrating strong mastery of core concepts like stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and equilibrium. I've been tutoring students since August 2024 across a range of math and science subjects. I focus on connecting chemistry concepts to real-world applications so students understand the material instead of just memorizing formulas.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I've been tutoring students from elementary through high school since August 2024, including one-on-one work with elementary-aged students on foundational math and reading skills. My approach with younger students is to keep instruction hands-on and connected to concrete examples, since elementary learners retain concepts far better when they can see or manipulate something rather than just following abstract rules. I also focus on building confidence alongside skill, since a student's attitude toward a subject at this age often matters as much as their technical understanding. Because I also tutor advanced high school subjects like AP Calculus, I have a clear picture of the foundational skills elementary students need to build toward, and I tailor instruction with that long-term trajectory in mind.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, including foundational instruction in arithmetic, fractions, and early problem-solving skills for elementary-aged students. My approach is to use visual and hands-on methods first, since elementary students build number sense more effectively through concrete examples than through abstract rules alone. I pay close attention to identifying gaps early, since small misunderstandings in elementary math compound quickly into bigger struggles in middle and high school math. Because I also tutor advanced math up through AP Calculus, I understand exactly which elementary foundations matter most for long-term success in math.
Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting

I've taken accounting coursework and worked as an Accounting Intern at US Installation Group, where I handled QuickBooks data entry, invoice auditing, and financial recordkeeping in a real business setting. I'm also QuickBooks Online (QBO) Certified, which reinforced my understanding of financial statements, journal entries, and core accounting principles. I served as president of one of the largest DECA chapters in the world, a business and finance organization, where I managed over $300,000 in annual financial activity and mentored students in accounting and finance concepts. I focus on breaking down accounting concepts into clear, practical steps grounded in real bookkeeping experience.
Geometry

Geometry

I earned an A in Geometry as part of a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and I scored a 770 on the SAT Math section, which draws heavily on geometry. I've also completed AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics 1, all of which build directly on geometric reasoning like coordinate geometry, trigonometric relationships, and spatial/vector concepts. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, so I've taught geometry fundamentals like angle relationships, triangle properties, and area/volume calculations as part of that broader math instruction. My approach is to connect abstract geometric rules to visual or hands-on reasoning first, since students who can picture why a theorem is true retain it far better than those who just memorize the formula.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I earned a 5 on the AP Macroeconomics exam and am a Data Science student at the University of Florida with hands-on financial leadership experience to back it up. As Vice President of Finance and Director of Finance for a 700+ member DECA chapter, I helped manage budgeting and financial planning for over $300,000 in annual activity, applying macroeconomic concepts like fiscal policy, GDP, and market dynamics to real organizational decisions. I also competed in DECA finance and economics-focused case study events, sharpening my analytical and quantitative skills. I can break down complex macroeconomic theory into clear, practical lessons for students at any level.
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

I earned a 5 on the AP Microeconomics exam, giving me a strong grasp of supply and demand, market structures, and consumer/producer behavior. As Vice President of Finance and Director of Finance for a 700+ member DECA chapter, I applied microeconomic thinking to real budgeting and pricing decisions involving over $300,000 in annual financial activity. I also competed in DECA finance and economics-focused case study events, which sharpened my ability to analyze markets and apply economic models under time pressure. I can break down microeconomic theory into clear, practical lessons for students at any level.
Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

I am Microsoft Certified in Excel and have used the program extensively for years, including for data organization and analysis. I can help students learn everything from basic formulas and formatting to more advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP. I focus on practical, hands-on learning so students can apply Excel skills immediately.
Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint

I am Microsoft PowerPoint certified and, as an Accounting Intern at US Installation Group and President of a 700+ member DECA chapter, I regularly built professional PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder meetings, officer trainings, and competitive business case presentations. My experience presenting at DECA's International Career Development Conference, where I placed 2nd in the world, required creating clear, persuasive, and visually effective slide decks under time constraints. I'm comfortable teaching design principles, layout, data visualization, and efficient workflows in PowerPoint. I tailor my teaching approach depending on whether a student needs help with business presentations, academic projects, or general proficiency.
Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word

I am Microsoft Word certified and have extensive experience using Word for academic writing, business documentation, and competition materials throughout high school and college. As a DECA chapter officer and founder of Partner Pathways, I authored detailed written reports and sponsorship proposals that required advanced formatting, templates, and collaborative editing tools in Word. I also tutor SAT Reading, which has sharpened my ability to break down grammar, structure, and clarity for student writing. I can help students with everything from basic formatting to more advanced features like styles, templates, and citations.
Physics

Physics

I earned a 5 on AP Physics 1, giving me a strong foundation in mechanics, energy, and the algebra-based problem-solving approach most high school physics courses use. I've been tutoring math and science since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach is to make sure students can translate a word problem into a diagram and the correct equations before touching a calculator, since most physics mistakes come from setting up a problem incorrectly rather than from arithmetic errors. Because I also have a strong math background, including AP Calculus AB and BC, I can show students the reasoning behind physics formulas rather than asking them to memorize formulas as disconnected facts.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I earned an A in Prealgebra as part of a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and I later earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, so I've mastered prealgebra concepts like fractions, ratios, negative numbers, and basic equations at a level far beyond what I'm teaching. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, including prealgebra instruction as part of that broader math tutoring. My approach is to make sure students are completely solid on numerical fluency before introducing variables, since shaky arithmetic is the most common hidden cause of struggles in prealgebra and beyond. I treat prealgebra as the bridge to formal algebra, so I focus heavily on the specific skills, like working with negative numbers and simplifying expressions, that most directly predict success in Algebra 1.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, so I've used precalculus topics like functions, trigonometry, and sequences extensively as direct prerequisites for the calculus coursework I mastered. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach is to constantly connect precalculus material to where it leads in calculus, since students retain concepts like function transformations and trig identities better when they understand why calculus will need them later. I also competed in individual Calculus events for my school's Mu Alpha Theta chapter, which required precalculus fluency under timed, competitive conditions similar to what students face on exams.
Probability

Probability

I scored a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, which covered probability theory extensively, including distributions, conditional probability, and combinatorics. I've been tutoring math students since August 2024. I focus on building intuition for probability concepts through clear examples rather than rote memorization of formulas.
PSAT

PSAT

I scored a 1500 on the SAT (730 Reading, 770 Math), and the PSAT tests the same content areas at a slightly lower difficulty level, so my SAT prep expertise transfers directly. I currently tutor SAT prep professionally at SC Tutoring and have been tutoring math and reading since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach is to start with a full-length practice test to identify whether a student's gaps are content-based, timing-based, or careless-error-based, since PSAT prep at its core is about building the same reading, writing, and math fundamentals the SAT tests, just with lower stakes and an earlier timeline. Because the PSAT also determines National Merit eligibility for juniors, I pay close attention to score thresholds and timeline so students aren't just improving generally but hitting specific benchmarks that matter for scholarship
QuickBooks

QuickBooks

I am QuickBooks Online (QBO) Certified and worked as an Accounting Intern at US Installation Group, where I gained hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including data entry, invoice auditing, and reconciling financial records in a fast-paced business environment. I also managed chapter finances as Vice President and Director of Finance for a 700+ member DECA organization with over $300,000 in annual financial activity, giving me practical bookkeeping and budgeting experience. My data science and software development background also helps me understand the automation and reporting features within QuickBooks. I can help students learn everything from basic data entry to more advanced reconciliation and reporting workflows.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a 770 on the SAT Math section (1500 total, 730 Reading), placing in the top percentile nationally, and I've backed that up academically with 5s on AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics 1, which cover the algebra, geometry, and advanced math content the section draws from. I currently tutor SAT prep professionally at SC Tutoring and have been tutoring since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school. My approach starts with a diagnostic practice section to figure out whether a student's missed points come from content gaps, timing pressure, or careless errors, since those three problems need entirely different fixes and lumping them together wastes study time. I focus heavily on the no-calculator section specifically, since that's where students with otherwise strong math skills tend to lose the most points to avoidable mistakes.
Statistics

Statistics

I scored a 5 on the AP Statistics exam, demonstrating strong command of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, regression, and data analysis. I've been tutoring students since August 2024 across math and science subjects. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind statistical methods so they can apply them confidently.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I earned 5s on both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, both of which require fluent use of trigonometric functions, identities, and the unit circle, so I've applied trigonometry extensively at a level beyond what I'm teaching. I've been tutoring math since August 2024, working one-on-one with students from elementary through high school, including trigonometry instruction as part of that broader math tutoring. My approach is to build strong visual intuition for the unit circle and graphs of trig functions first, since students who understand the visual relationships have an easier time memorizing identities than those who try to memorize formulas in isolation. I also draw on my SAT Math score of 770, since trigonometry appears throughout the SAT Math section and I've applied these concepts extensively in test-prep contexts.
