Hi there! I'm Christy, a CPA who helps accounting students move from memorizing rules to actually understanding the logic behind them. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's in Accounting from the University of Florida and am a licensed CPA based in Gainesville. I spent 1.5 years in public accounting before moving into a governmental accounting role, where I handled financial and managerial accounting. During my last year of grad school, I also served as a TA for Audit 1 and 2.

Accounting has always fascinated me. I love how it functions as a language for financial information, with its own logic and structure. I don't have much formal tutoring experience yet, but I've spent years breaking down accounting concepts for coworkers and classmates, and I genuinely love that moment when something clicks. I work well with students at the intro through intermediate level, especially financial accounting, business processes, audit, tax, and managerial accounting. Whether you're catching up on homework, prepping for an exam, or just trying to build a real foundation instead of memorizing formulas, I focus on the "why" behind the numbers so the concepts actually stick.
I signed up to tutor on Wyzant because of my own experience: a Wyzant tutor in high school changed how I approach problem-solving, and I still use what I learned from him regularly. I want to offer that same kind of impact to my students. Message me and tell me what you're working on. I'll help you find the fastest path to understanding it.
