Hi! My name is Jordan, I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Florida, studying Environmental Engineering. I have both my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida. I hold three graduate certificates from the University of Florida: Engineering Leadership, Great Teaching Certificate, and Engineering Project Management. With my expertise in STEM and my experience with academic and technical writing, I am comfortable teachign and tutoring in subjects such as calculus, algebra, chemistry, engineering, professional communication, and english.

I have taught at the university level and have tutored students of all ages, from K-12 through college and graduate school, in both classroom and one-on-one settings over the past ten years. My approach to teaching is to start by figuring out where a student's understanding actually breaks down. I work backward to find that gap, rebuild it, and then connect the new material to something they already understand. I lean on real-world examples, work problems step by step, and check understanding by having the student walk me through their reasoning.

Beyond the subject matter, I try to make sessions low-pressure and build a student's confidence as much as their skills, since anxiety around math and science is often as much of a barrier as the content itself. Whether you're a high schooler working through algebra or physics, a college student facing calculus or a tough engineering course, or a graduate student, my goal is the same: to help you not just get the right answer, but understand why it's right so you can do it on your own.
