Greetings! My name is Ms. Reema.
I am an experienced math tutor working with elementary, middle school, and high school students in both small-group and individualized settings. My focus is helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop problem-solving abilities that lead to measurable academic growth.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration in December 2014 and graduated Cum Laude. I was on the Dean’s List for three consecutive years. My coursework included Calculus I, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and Managerial Accounting. I also hold a Florida Educator Certificate in Mathematics.
From 2019–2020, I worked as a Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning Center, teaching students ages 7–17 in elementary math, middle school math, pre-algebra, and algebra in small groups of up to three students. Instruction was individualized, and progress was tracked using STAR Learning Assessments. Most students showed approximately 25% growth in math proficiency. In Summer 2023, I worked as a Math Instructor at Mathnasium, using structured methods to build foundational skills in number sense, place value, equivalency, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, and introductory algebra. I supported students in mastering operations with whole numbers, fractions, and mixed numbers while strengthening understanding of algebraic expressions, variables, and equations using manipulatives, visual models, and guided instruction. Lastly, in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, I provided after-school tutoring to 7th and 8th grade students while teaching at a charter school. Students showed significant increases in FAST Math Assessment scores.
My instructional approach includes diagnostic assessment, step-by-step instruction, scaffolding, guided practice, error analysis, visual models, retrieval practice, and real-world applications.
