Hi! My name is Julia, and I’m especially passionate about helping elementary students build confidence and curiosity in learning!
I graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science on the pre-medical track, where I developed a strong academic foundation and an additional passion for working with young learned!
I have several years of experience working with elementary school students, including volunteering as a school tutor throughout college and currently mentoring students through ACPS after-school programs. In these roles, I’ve supported students with math, reading, and science, whether that’s helping with homework, reinforcing foundational skills, or making learning fun through interactive activities and play.
One of my favorite tutoring experiences was working with a student who initially disliked math but, over time, began to feel more confident as challenging concepts started to click. By the end of my time as her tutor, she told me math had become her favorite subject. Moments like that are why I love tutoring!
I especially enjoy working with elementary students because I believe these early years are so important in shaping how children view learning. I strive to create a supportive, patient, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My teaching style is adaptable to each student’s needs; I can break down concepts step-by-step or use creative examples, to keep students engaged. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead, I’m here to help them succeed while actually enjoying the process! I’d love to work with your student—feel free to reach out!
