In my career, I have taught AP English Language and Composition, AP Seminar, AP Research, AP Psychology, Pre-AP English, AICE Global Perspectives, and AICE General Paper. I have also served as a reader and table leader at seven AP Readings for the College Board. Additionally, I spent two years working as an instructional specialist for the School District of Palm Beach County, where I designed and facilitated district-wide professional development and provided instructional coaching for AP and AICE teachers.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring students in AP English Language and Composition, AP Seminar, and AP Research. My years as a table leader at the AP Reading help me teach students how to think like their AP Reader, and I am confident that I can help students earn 5s on these exams. In my tutoring sessions for AP English Language and Composition, I teach students how to target the rubrics for the synthesis, rhetorical analysis, and argument essays (Q1 - Q3) by reviewing and scoring sample essays with them and providing them with detailed scoring feedback on their own essays. My tutoring sessions with AP Seminar and AP Research students are tailored to help each student wherever they are at in their research process, whether that means brainstorming with them on question generation, finding and analyzing sources, or working with them to edit and refine their essays to target the rubric effectively.
I believe that working together should be fun, and I have had the pleasure of teaching thousands of students how to become better readers, writers, and critical thinkers. In addition to the specific tutoring I offer for the AP subjects mentioned above, I can also work with students who need help writing or revising an essay or research paper for any high school or college course or who just want to learn the basics of academic writing.
