Hi! I am currently a student at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in Media Production, Management, and Technology, though I began my academic path as a pre-med and neuroscience student. This strong academic background across both STEM and the humanities has given me the flexibility to tutor students in a wide range of subjects, from math and science to reading, writing, and test preparation. I have also completed extensive coursework in psychology, biology, and writing, which has strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps for students at different learning levels.
My tutoring and teaching experience includes working one-on-one with peers and younger students, particularly in preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT, as well as helping with elementary through high school coursework. I focus on tailoring my approach to the needs of each student, using a mix of guided practice, problem-solving strategies, and confidence-building exercises. For example, when preparing students for the SAT, I emphasize both content mastery and test-taking strategies such as time management, process of elimination, and recognizing common question patterns. With younger students, I often use interactive and creative approaches to keep them engaged while reinforcing foundational skills.
Over the past several years, I have worked with a variety of students ranging from elementary school through high school, in both volunteer and informal tutoring contexts. I have also led group study sessions and helped peers prepare for challenging exams in a classroom-like setting. These experiences have not only given me insight into different learning styles but also taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and encouragement in the tutoring process. My background allows me to connect with students of all ages, build their academic confidence, and help them develop skills that will benefit them far beyond a single class or test.
