My name is Darryl, and I am a dedicated Mathematics student at the University of Florida with over three years of tutoring experience. Mathematics has always been more than just numbers to me; it is a language of patterns, reasoning, and discovery. I bring this perspective into every session by going beyond formulas and procedures, helping students understand why concepts work and where they come from. Whether through math animations I coded myself, step-by-step derivations, or real-world examples, I strive to make abstract ideas clear, memorable, and meaningful.
I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds, from K–12 learners to university-level courses in Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Geometry. In addition to private tutoring, I have worked with Varsity Tutors for a year and helped around 50 students over various high school/college math topics and served as a Math Assistant at summer camps, where I helped students strengthen their problem-solving skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
I also specialize in AP Calculus and SAT/ACT Math preparation, having earned a perfect score on the PSAT and SAT Math sections and top scores (4s and 5s) on my AP exams. My approach focuses on building a strong conceptual foundation while encouraging independent problem-solving and critical thinking. Every student has a unique way of understanding math, and my goal is to uncover that pathway to make the subject more approachable and even enjoyable.
