hold a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. In addition, I am certified by the Florida Department of Education to teach K–6 and hold endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am also CPI certified, which has equipped me with strategies for maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment.
For over twenty years, I have worked as a classroom teacher in both primary and intermediate grade levels, teaching students from first through fourth grade. Most recently, I served as a Behavior Resource Teacher, where I supported both students and teachers by implementing positive interventions that improved behavior and maximized instructional time. Across all of my teaching roles, I have focused on designing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and tailoring instruction to meet individual needs.
My approach to tutoring emphasizes patience, encouragement, and interactive learning. I believe in breaking down concepts into manageable steps, using visual and hands-on strategies, and fostering confidence in each learner. I have worked with diverse student populations, including English language learners and students requiring additional reading support, and I understand how to adapt my methods to meet the unique needs of each child. With my background in classroom teaching and one-on-one support, I am committed to helping students build skills, overcome challenges, and achieve success in their academic goals.
