Computer Science Students Experienced in Multiple Languages

I'm Guhan, a sophomore at the University of Florida pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science and a minor in Information Systems. During my freshman year in college, I frequently helped my peers understand intricate concepts across different programming languages. It was during these informal tutoring sessions that I found my passion for helping students learn. Seeing my friends finally grasp difficult concepts gave me a deep sense of pride and motivated me to continue sharing my knowledge with others. As a tutor, I'm going to try my best to make learning enjoyable by connecting abstract concepts to real-life examples, ensuring that students understand the concepts deeply. I'm also willing to go the extra mile to create tailored resources that address the student's unique learning styles.

I have around a year's experience of tutoring via the Math Honor Society and unofficial experience through helping my peers. I often worked in either one-on-one or groups of 2-3 students, who were mostly high schoolers. In these sessions, I tutored in Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Precalculus, as well as programming languages like Python and C++. My favorite approach during tutoring is using real-world examples that the student finds intriguing to explain concepts and formulate questions. I believe this method works extremely well because it helps students understand how their interests work with other subjects.

I'm always looking into ways I could improve my teaching experience so I welcome all feedback and suggestions made by students.
