I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Florida, where I also earned my M.S. in Social Psychology in 2023. I have explored how places of attachment can influence psychological well-being. I hold a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Francis Marion University, where I graduated summa cum laude. My undergraduate honors thesis investigated the dimensions of "Sense of Place" and their relationship to personality traits in rural settings, reflecting an early interest in environmental psychology.
My experience as a graduate instructor and teaching assistant at the University of Florida has given me hands-on skills in teaching a wide range of psychological topics. I have taught introductory courses in general psychology and social psychology, where I’ve served as a guest lecturer and facilitated discussions, supporting students' understanding of complex theories through practical examples. In addition, I am actively involved in student mentorship, having advised undergraduate honor’s thesis students. My background also includes experience as a writing center consultant and English composition teaching assistant during my undergraduate years, where I honed my skills in one-on-one tutoring, providing guidance on writing, and helping students to develop effective communication skills.
My teaching approach is informed by a strong foundation in research and applied psychology. Throughout my academic journey, I have presented at national conferences and published peer-reviewed papers, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. This combination of formal education, teaching experience, and research has equipped me with a broad understanding of psychology, enabling me to provide students with a solid foundation in both theory and practical application.
