I love helping learners of all ages become strong thinkers, readers, and writers. With a PhD in Literacy Education and a Master's in Journalism, I bring lots of experience in supporting diverse learners.

I’ve taught English and Chinese to children, teens, and adults, with 10 years of teaching experience in both the U.S. and China. I've taught college courses in reading, writing, and children’s literature for 6 years. I’ve also authored and translated three books, including a bilingual 6th-grade writing handbook. In addition, I actively work as an education researcher and literacy advocate. I collaborate with schools, libraries, and NGOs to improve education programs, and shared my work at international conferences.

In my teaching, I focus on making reading and writing meaningful, enjoyable, and engaging. I tailor every lesson to each student’s goals. My goal is to help students develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong learning skills. I start with a free 20–30 minute consultation to discuss goals and plan the best approach before we begin.
