Hello! I'm Vy, currently an undergrad student at UF studying Computer Science.
My tutoring experience has been mostly in linguistics. I tutored 2 elementary students from Vietnam through Zoom every week for half a year, teaching them English in a more conversational and practical approach through speaking and writing exercises. Per my standardized testing qualifications, I scored a 1500 (1530 super score) on the SAT (99th percentile), and a 113 on the TOEFL iBT. As a non-native English speaker, having studied English all my life gave me a methodical approach to the language-centric exercises on these exams in order to excel.
As per my CS pedigree -- I've been coding for 2+ years, mainly in C++ and Java. I am interning at JP Morgan Chase this summer in a software engineering role. That being said, I only started coding for the first time in college, so I understand the struggle while also having found a way to learn coding efficiently and enjoyably. I can help with guiding you through your coding assignments, debugging your code, or being a sound-board for your ideas.
