I have experience teaching high school U.S. History, developing standards-aligned lessons that help students understand major political, social, economic, and cultural developments in American history. I create engaging, student-centered instruction using primary sources, guided notes, collaborative activities, historical analysis, and technology to support students with diverse learning needs. My teaching emphasizes critical thinking, evidence-based reasoning, and making meaningful connections between historical events and contemporary issues. I also use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to improve student achievement.

I have experience teaching both AP U.S. Government and Politics and regular U.S. Government courses at the high school level. My instruction focuses on constitutional principles, civil liberties and civil rights, the branches of government, political participation, public policy, and the analysis of foundational documents and Supreme Court cases. In AP Government, I emphasize College Board skills such as source analysis, argumentation, data interpretation, and preparation for the AP exam, while adapting regular Government instruction to meet Florida standards and the needs of diverse learners. I use a combination of direct instruction, primary-source analysis, collaborative activities, guided practice, and assessments to help students connect government concepts to historical and contemporary issues.
