Hi, my name is John. I am a high school teacher in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. I teach Biotechnology and Marine Science. I have received an AICE diploma, with merit, through the University of Cambridge in England. I am certified as a Bio-technician Assistant through the University of Florida, and have conducted cellular biology research through the University of Central Florida.

I have tutored high school students who were struggling with the science portion of the ACT. In high school, I received a 28 on my science portion of the ACT. Teachers only have a limited time to work with students during the school day. I believe that tutoring can go a long way in reinforcing these topics and allowing students to gain the knowledge necessary to succeed. With a positive mental attitude and a willing mind, improving grades and test scores is possible.

I have taken many upper level science courses as a student at the University of Central Florida. Some of these classes include Microbiology, Genetics, Evolutionary Biology, Organic Chemistry and Genetics. The field of science is growing rapidly every day. Jobs are readily available and technology is helping us improve. By understanding science, and not just memorizing the information for tests, you are able to succeed at a higher rate.

I have tutored many different students, including athletes. I feel as if I can connect to students on a more personal level than teachers since I am still a student myself. I understand the stresses that come with being a student, and I hope to improve your child's scholastic experience by helping them succeed.
