I am an experienced elementary educator with recent classroom and substitute teaching experience in grades K through 5, where I taught reading, writing, and math across a variety of learning levels. My strongest area is reading and language arts, and I have extensive experience supporting students with phonics, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary development, and writing skills. I have also worked with ESE students, adapting instruction to meet individual needs and learning styles. Earlier in my career, I taught 10th-grade reading, which gave me a strong foundation in helping struggling readers build confidence and improve literacy skills. This range of experience allows me to effectively support both younger learners and students who need extra reinforcement.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and confident, so I focus on meeting each learner where they are and breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps. I tailor each session to the student’s pace and needs, using proven reading strategies and positive reinforcement to help them succeed. My goal is not only to improve academic skills, but also to help students develop confidence and a positive attitude toward learning. I enjoy partnering with families to support student progress and make learning a more enjoyable and less stressful experience.
