I am a 13th year teacher certified in English and Social Studies. I have worked with grades 6-12, and tutored students as young as 10. I received my Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University where I studied Communications with a focus in sales, promotions and public relations. I worked in New York City in the fashion industry in the field of journalism, but went back to school to obtain a license in adolescent young adult education in the field of English Language Arts. I have taught all levels including remediation, general education, honors and advanced, AP, IB, and Cambridge. I am ESOL certified, and I am currently enrolled in gifted education courses.

I have worked with EF International Education to tutor foreign exchange students, and received training to work with students who speak multiple languages. I have also tutored elementary students who did not pass state standardized tests. In addition, I have tutored high school students to prepare for the SAT and ACT Reading and Writing exams. Most of my teaching has been focused in academic writing; essays, timed writing and research. I also have a social studies license, and I was a college athlete and coach soccer and track.

Bachelor of Arts in Communications, ELA license grades 6-12, received professional development and training in Advanced Placement Literature and Language and composition, received professional development training in Advanced International Certificate of Education courses including Travel and Tourism and Global perspectives; 90% pass rate for Cambridge college courses; 75% pass rate for state standardized tests, teacher mentor, and writing coach.
