Hi, I’m Monique!
I’m an experienced educator with over 20 years of working with children from Pre-K through 6th grade. I’ve served as both a head teacher and teaching assistant in New York, and I currently tutor students in reading, writing, spelling, social studies, and math.
I believe every child learns differently. I take the time to discover each child’s interests—whether it’s Dr. Seuss or a favorite topic—and use that to make learning engaging and meaningful. I have extensive experience supporting children with ADHD and Autism, and as a parent of children with disabilities myself, I understand the patience, creativity, and compassion it takes to help children thrive.
I’ve also homeschooled my daughter through high school and my stepson during COVID, and I’m now the Director of an online preschool, where my four-year-old proudly attends. My goal is to support children not only academically, but in building confidence and independence in everyday life.

While my work experience is in early childhood education, my education is in Criminal Justice. I have a BS in Criminal Justice. I've helped fellow classmates, friends and family with any assignments or questions they have had pertaining to the criminal Justice field.

I've worked in the teaching field as both an assistant and head teacher for over 5 years. I've tutored children from grades 2-6th in all areas of study (mostly reading, spelling, social studies and science and some math). I've worked with children from ages 6 months to 18 years for the past 16 years.

As a single mom I worked hard and completed my studies. While raising my child I learned of the disabilities that she had and eventually had to home school her myself. For the past year I've been working with her on her studies and she is now moving in to the tenth grade.

I've been a reading tutor for over 5 years, working on wyzant for almost 3. I tutor most of my children in reading, some math but predominantly reading. I enjoy helping in reading because as a child and preteen I didn't really like it, so now I love being able to help others find the joy in reading that I have.
