Learning should be as effective as it is fun! My name is Erica, and I tutor students in a variety of subjects including math and science. I triple majored in biochemistry, neuroscience, and psychology, and graduated with honors at the University of Toronto, a top ranking international educational institution. I am a member of the National Tutor Association, and have 15 years of experience working with students from all sorts of backgrounds and needs.
I use creative strategies to help students overcome learning barriers, and have great patience and care for all my students. Each student comes away with a specific study plan to assist them in their learning prescription. I then work toward this goal, and I continuously monitor their progress, and give them constant feedback. I assign homework for students to improve on their own time, and this maximizes our productivity during learning sessions. I have had good overall results with my students in the subjects I teach.
My husband, who is also a WyzAnt tutor, and I tutor together and are tremendously invested in our students. We get to know our students very well, and work toward helping them succeed through creative measures while importantly having fun in all the subjects that we teach.
My aim is to help build confidence and then enable students achieve new levels on their academic preparation. I look forward to learning more about your tutoring needs, and please feel free to contact me!

My student is enjoying her sessions and expresses that she feels that due to this tutoring she will do better on the up coming ACT.
When I first approached the SAT Math section, I felt intimidated because I am weakest in math. A satisfactory score on the SAT was vital, as I am applying to several universities and colleges in my senior year of high school. To accomplish my goals, I knew I needed professional help, and so I contacted Erica. Within only a few lessons, she was able to identify my weaknesses in math, allowing her to pinpoint the exact areas in which I required the most help. In about 3-4 weeks, my SAT math score increased 70 points! This increase has bolstered my overall confidence when approaching math, whether it be in school or on a standardized exam. I could not ask for better results. Thank you Erica!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
