I am a Cornell University graduate with a degree in Biological Engineering, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and analytical problem-solving. Throughout my rigorous coursework, I consistently applied advanced mathematical concepts, from calculus and differential equations to statistics and linear algebra. Though, my favorite courses to teach are middle and high school level! My engineering background has taught me not only how to solve complex problems but also how to break them down into digestible steps, a skill that translates directly into effective teaching. Additionally, my education required extensive technical writing and communication, which has equipped me to tutor English and help students develop strong writing and comprehension skills.

My tutoring experience spans multiple years and various contexts, allowing me to work with students of diverse ages and learning styles. During high school, I was an active member of Mu Alpha Theta, the mathematics honor society, where I regularly tutored peers in algebra and other math subjects. This experience taught me how to explain complex concepts in multiple ways to accommodate different learning styles and helped me develop patience and communication skills essential for effective teaching. My approach is student-centered: I begin by assessing where a student is struggling, then tailor my explanations using real-world examples and visual aids to make abstract concepts concrete and relatable. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are essential parts of the learning process. I also emphasize building problem-solving strategies rather than just memorizing formulas, which helps students develop critical thinking skills they can apply beyond the classroom.
