I am currently employed as a teacher with the Palm Beach School District.

I am very passionate about history and employ different techniques to help students of all levels understand the complex world of history. Although my particular field of expertise is European history, I am also qualified to tutor students of ancient, eastern, and American history. I look forward to working together!

I am dedicated to working with students to improve both their content/test based abilities as well as their writing skills. Not only can I provide tutoring services for exams, but I am also highly skilled at historical writing and would be more than happy to work with students to develop historical papers.

As a Second Grade teacher with the Palm Beach County School District, I am knowledgeable about Common Core standards. I understand that the standards have been developed to prepare students for entry-level careers and freshmen level college courses. This can be achieved through close examination of learning outcomes in order to individualize learning for each student. Individualized learning based on the Common Core standards also enables students to progress at individualized pace and performance level.
Elementary (K-6th)

As an elementary educator, I am qualified to tutor in K-6 because I am familiar with Florida State Standards and Common Core. Additionally, I plan and implement daily lessons in elementary grade ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Furthermore, I assess students in each subject on a weekly basis, in accordance with Palm Beach School District standards and curriculum. I am capable of assessing student needs and individualize learning based on those needs.

I have a Bachelor's degree (and in the process of completing a Master's degree) in History with a focus on Medieval, Reformation, and Early Modern history. Additionally, I hold a statement of eligibility with the Florida Department of Education for Social Studies grades 5-12. I have tutored middle school age students in social studies for several years and am currently employed by the Palm Beach School District.

As a certified reading specialist, I have several years experience working with struggling readers. I am trained in multiple reading intervention programs that focus on building foundational reading skills in a systematic and explicit way.

Additionally, I hold a statement of eligibility with the Florida Department of Education for Social Studies grades 5-12 which (pending hire by a public school) will result in a temporary teaching certificate in Social Studies. Although I do not have formal experience teaching, I have tutored middle school age students in social studies for several years.

I am proficient in teaching study skills due to my educational background and experience as a teacher. I have a bachelor's degree and am finishing a master's degree in History, both of which require strong study skills such as memorization, critical thinking, synthesis of information, and writing. Additionally, I employ several methods to enhance retention among my elementary students. This includes: color coding, mnemonics, acronyms, flashcards, and visual mapping.

In my current role as an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) History teacher, I guide students through the process of crafting and refining thesis statements for their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays. My expertise lies in helping students structure complex historical arguments, integrate evidence effectively, and develop clear, focused theses that drive their research and writing.
