IxL certified tutor. I worked as a volunteer tutor with AmeriCorps for Alachua County for two years and then became a teacher. I am a former teacher and certified in 27 subjects through WyzAnt. I have worked with children with ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I can provide an in-depth learning experience filled with productive exercises, meaningful advice and plenty of direct support and encouragement. I require two hours notice to cancel or you will be charged the fee for the entire session/cancellation fee. I meet at libraries near you or online. I prefer to work online or in a clubhouse or library near your home. If I come to your home, it has to be clean, and quiet in a study area such as a patio or den, and it will be $20 extra to meet at your home.

While I can do last-minute tutoring, I can't help you cram for an exam you have not studied for. Nor can I help you write a paper due on the same day you were assigned weeks ago.

I taught head start through college. I also worked as an F-Cat (Common Core)/FSA tutor and prepared elementary school students for this test. I also worked as an English tutor for 14 years to international college students and prepared them for the TOEFL. I specialize in Psychology, Computer Science, Creative writing, English and Math.
An outstanding tutor is not only one who knows the subject well but also someone who can effectively teach it to others. I love tutoring and working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Handwriting

I have taught education and writing from head-start to junior high school. Handwriting is a necessary part of education, without this it would be very difficult for students and teachers to communicate and instructors would not be able to evaluate most of their students' assignments. I tutored students in writing by having them trace dotted outlines of letters and words they needed to learn. I began with upper and lower case alphabets, numbers, two, three and four letter words and their names. As students progressed I just had them write without using the dotted lines. I always encouraged them.
