A well versed tutor of English and English as a second language

I am a tutor who is well versed in English. I also teach theater, drama and comedy. It is my desire to empower uplift and teach those with a need to learn English everything I have learned. The fact that I am bilingual is very helpful to the Latino young students here in New York city. Sports is something else I am good at, and since I am 6 feet 5 inches, tall I play basketball very well.

I am a performing arts teacher. Acting, Drama, comedy and stand up comedy are my specialties. I have been in the Screen Actor's Guild for 8 years. I happen to be very knowledgeable of American history and Biology as well. I can teach students to be comfortable reading aloud. Indeed
it will be my pleasure to help fellow New York students overcome confidence issues with speaking, reading, and writing English. I also want to educate those students who want to pursue a career in acting and theater. I have always been a tutor, or at least since I became a father in 1990. I taught my children how to read classic books such as Goodnight Moon, Caps for Sale, and Where the Wild Things Are. My approach is to be patient and I make learning fun. I smile a lot when I teach and I always make sure the students understand completely before moving on.

I have tutored/ taught in community centers in Queens after school, for a couple of hours in the evening for the past 7 years. I taught chess, speaking in front of a group, English, spelling and phonics. I usually taught elementary school children ages 6 to 11. I also tutored children in my church for about a year, helping the students who struggled with the English language (I spoke in Spanish and English to them). I do not have any certifications or awards, but I love empowering students. I am open to online tutoring as well.
