I began my career in education as a tutor in the Writing Center of Broward College during my second year in college. There, I helped fellow college students with their reading comprehension, taught grammar and syntax, and essay construction and formatting. I continued to work for the Writing Center for 4 more years, and then became certified to teach English to students in grade 6 through 12. After going through my certification process, I began working at a charter school in Miami, teaching English/Literature to students in grades 9 through 12. I continued tutoring throughout that time. I currently work at a private high school teaching Advanced Placement English Language & Composition and tutor when I can.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in English, with minors in Philosophy and Sociology, from Nova Southeastern University. I also hold a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction in English Education. I have tutored students in reading comprehension, essay writing, English-language skills, college admissions essays, and SAT Reading preparation for the past 10+ years, and I have been in the classroom teaching high-school English for the last 12 years.
