My name is Daniel G. and I am currently a Master’s student at Nova Southeastern University pursuing a degree in mental health counseling. I have a B.A in psychology and a B.A in philosophy from Villanova University, with extensive experience in MLA, APA, and Chicago style formatting. I have five years of professional tutoring experience and have a passion for working with students to improve their confidence and abilities, especially in the writing discipline. I have taught AP psychology, AP English Language and Literature, and have worked closely with students on a one-on-one basis on college papers, college essays, and standardized test preparation. Working with Wyzant, I have had great success in helping college students in all elements of the writing process, while at the same time harnessing their creativity, and helping them to develop cohesive, structured arguments.

At Villanova, I excelled in writing intensive courses and achieved a near-perfect cumulative G.P.A in courses where the grade depended mostly upon essays and analytic free-responses. Although my B.A is in psychology and philosophy, I also completed undergraduate coursework in English literature, political science, journalism, theology, and the biological sciences. When tutoring a student in essay writing, I take a very logical, organized approach that at the same time also fosters the individuality and creative voice of the student. I stress the importance of developing a unique, well-supported thesis statement and I believe conducting thorough research is always key. I usually assign my students homework and will check and see how they are doing in between sessions.
