I earned my Master of Music in Jazz Voice from Manhattan School of Music in 2026 and my Bachelor of Music in Studio Jazz Vocal Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music in 2024 with a minor in Computer Science. My undergraduate and graduate education included an extensive study of music theory, harmony, ear training, arranging, general musicianship, and jazz singing.

As a graduate student at Manhattan School of Music, I worked as an online freelance music theory tutor to undergraduate students taking required music theory courses. My students were studying a variety of music-related fields, such as musical theater, and I helped them with topics such as music notation, scales, intervals, chords, melodic/rhythmic dictation, harmonic analysis, and many other foundational theory concepts. My lessons were one-on-one with students via Zoom and I adapted lessons based on their coursework, assignments, and previous exams they provided me.

Before that, my last years at the University of Miami were spent working as a Computer Science tutor through the University of Miami Camner Center for Academic Resources. I tutored underclassmen enrolled in Introduction to Programming (ECE 118), Computer Programming (CSC120), and Computer Programming II (CSC220), all courses I had previously completed myself. I worked with approximately 25 different students, many of whom met with me regularly throughout the semesters. My approach was to work through specific concepts relevant to their own assignments and classroom lectures.

My goal as a tutor is to help my students fully understand the musical concepts presented to them so that they can apply these concepts on their own in their future coursework and as musicians. Having recently completed both an undergraduate and graduate music degree, I understand what is demanded of conservatory students. My combination of subject knowledge, tutoring experience, and my adaptable teaching approach allows me to support my students effectively.

Approved Subjects

Ear Training

Ear Training

I earned a Master of Music in Jazz Voice from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Studio Jazz Vocal Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. My undergraduate and graduate studies as a jazz conservatory student included rigorous work in ear training through the transcription of live jazz recordings. This required exceptional proficiency in chord recognition, interval recognition, and melodic/rhythmic dictation. As a freelance tutor, I have worked one-on-one with students on ear-training and musicianship concepts relating to their coursework at different universities. My approach to ear-training involves strengthening a student's connection with the music they hear and the concepts they are learning on the page.
General Music

General Music

I earned a Master of Music in Jazz Voice from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Studio Jazz Vocal Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Both my undergraduate and graduate education included a rigorous study of music theory, ear training, harmony, melodic and rhythmic dictation, aural skills, and general musicianship. As a freelance music theory tutor at Manhattan School of Music, I have worked one-on-one with students on foundational music theory courses by adapting sessions to their current coursework and personal needs. My experience as a vocalist and conservatory-trained musician allows me to connect technical musical concepts we study to the everyday music we listen to. Outside of school, I perform solo with a live band at Candlelight Sinatra and Sinatra Under the Stars in Miami, FL. Many of my students are pursuing a degree in musical theatre, and they know that, before jazz, I grew up performing in children's theatre, through high school, and in college. I understand how a solid foundation in music theory is essential to the theatre student in terms of sight-reading and learning music quickly, working with directors and accompanists, and harmonizing in ensembles.
Music Theory

Music Theory

I earned a Master of Music in Jazz Voice from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Studio Jazz Vocal Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. My time both as and undergraduate and graduate student in conservatory included extensive study of music theory, ear training, and overall musicianship. As a graduate student at Manhattan School of Music, I worked as an online freelance music theory tutor who helped undergraduate students enrolled in music theory courses with topics such as notation, scales, intervals, chords, harmonic analysis, melodic / rhythmic dictation, and many other concepts. I have worked with many different students with a variety of experience and have adapted lessons to their coursework, lectures, and previous exams. My goal as a tutor is to help students understand the underlying musical concepts presented to them so that they can apply them independently and successfully.
Piano

Piano

I began studying piano privately at age 7 (followed by trumpet at the high school level). I continued my piano training through my undergraduate and graduate studies in jazz voice. At the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Manhattan School of Music, I completed required jazz piano coursework including private study with professor and jazz pianist Jeremy Manasia. My piano training focused on sight-reading, jazz harmony, and chord voicings. I help students develop foundational piano skills while also connecting the instrument to practical musicianship.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I earned a Master of Music in Jazz Voice from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Studio Jazz Vocal Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. As a conservatory student and professional vocalist, I have had extensive experience in sight-singing and aural skills through private lessons and choir ensemble work under the direction of Dr. Kate Reid at the Frost School of Music and Theo Bleckmann at the Manhattan School of Music. As a freelance music theory tutor, I have also helped many students develop the skills necessary to read and understand music notation confidently.
