My name is Alexis, and I graduated magna cum laude from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Criminal Justice. During my time at The Citadel, I was a member of the women's soccer team and actively participated in various campus organizations.
For the past year and a half, I served as a chemistry tutor at The Citadel. This role was especially rewarding because I am passionate about helping students succeed and deepen their understanding of challenging subjects. I enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others. As a tutor, I worked evening hours assisting students with General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, providing support to anyone seeking academic help. Tutoring has also benefited me by allowing me to continually strengthen and refine my own understanding of these subjects.
In addition to tutoring, I served as a Battalion Academic Officer during my senior year. In this position, I guided and assisted students with a variety of academic needs, including course registration, degree planning, tutoring resources, and communication with professors. Through these experiences, I developed strong mentoring, leadership, and communication skills. Most importantly, I gained a deeper appreciation for the dedication and support systems that contribute to student success.
I am excited to return to tutoring and look forward to helping students achieve their academic goals. My goal is to provide clear guidance, encouragement, and effective learning strategies to help each student build confidence and succeed in their coursework.
