College essays are not about polished prose. They are about persuasion. At selective U.S. universities, admissions officers are deciding which students they will remember, not which students can write the prettiest sentences. My work focuses on helping students develop clear thinking, intentional structure, and a compelling narrative that communicates who they are and why they belong.
I have over a decade of experience teaching English, writing, and academic thinking to middle school and high school students, including ESOL learners and college-bound students. I hold degrees in English and Philosophy and completed my graduate studies at the University of Miami. I currently teach college-level English and have worked with students applying to highly selective U.S. universities, including Ivy League and top-tier private institutions. My experience spans one-on-one coaching, classroom instruction, and intensive essay development.
Each student I work with has a different background, voice, and goal. I begin by understanding their experiences, intellectual interests, and long-term academic direction, then help them shape those ideas into a persuasive essay aligned with admissions expectations. I do not write essays for students. Instead, I guide them through multiple rounds of feedback and revision so that the final essay is authentically theirs—clear, intentional, and memorable.
