Hi, my name is Tarra,
I teach because I love teaching. I love teaching anything.... and I am very good at making people love a subject. I teach the meaning of a subject, and why it works, so you don't have to memorize as many rules. I have done a great deal of teacher training in the past 25 years, in many disciplines, because I am always learning to be a better teacher.

My aim in tutoring school subjects is to make homework, tests, and getting good grades significantly easier, as I am aware of how much homework kids get these days. My track record is very good, with every student I've ever taught going up at least 1 grade level, and often as much as 2 levels (C to A).
My aim in teaching music is to be able to express yourself with good technique that is healthy for your body and makes a beautiful tone. I foster a love for your instrument, for music theory, composition, or any other aspect of music. I like and teach all genres of music, from classical to metal/jazz/rock/country in both guitar and violin.
I am patient and kind, and have a lot of good tricks for learning. I have taught in colleges, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools and preschools. I start teaching private lessons over 40 years ago, and have happily taught people from ages 2 to 93.
My several degrees are:
B.Sc Chemistry, Winner of Chemistry Prize (top student of year) and Most Promising Research Student, 1983
M.Sc. Chemistry, 1st Class Honors, University of Auckland, minor in Physics, 1985 - University of Auckland, NZ
B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance, minor in Violin & Composition 2012
M.M. in Music 2014; Florida Atlantic University
