Hello, I'm Tristan! I'm currently a Master's student studying Marine Science and Graduate Research Assistant in the GIS & Spatial Ecology Laboratory at NSU Florida. I specialize in in-situ coral disease intervention, mapping invasive macroalgae blooms on SE Florida reefs, and offer field support on other researcher's projects! I also graduated with my Bachelor's in Biology concentrating in Ecology and Evolution with a minor in Environmental Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am very passionate about biology and conservation, and I am even more passionate about helping other's learn about these subjects!

I have been a TA for 400 level marine biology, and have been conducting research since my sophomore year of college, giving my extensive knowledge in the field, and a fresh memory for what student's need to succeed in their undergraduate and late high school careers. I offer the strongest support in Marine Biology, Scientific Writing, Ecology, Biostatistics, Environmental Science, Marine Chemistry, GIS and Spatial Ecology, and Tropical Taxonomy, as I work with these subjects every day in my research. Though, with a background in biology, I also have extensive knowledge in Evolution, Genetics, Microbiology, Mammalogy, Plant biology, Field Ecology, and can offer support to anyone on the general biology track. I should also point out, I've been a certified diver since I was 10 years old and am currently an AAUS scientific diver, so if you need any help with your scuba courses I can support you there as well!

I am excited to help you learn everything biology and environmental science, but beyond that excitement, I want my students to succeed. As my student, we will go over your current syllabus and course requirements, and outline what your instructor wants you to learn. With this context, we'll then tackle your current course materials that you need help with, center our lesson around what you specifically need to learn, and then develop study methods that work for you!

Biology

I am currently an M.S. Candidate in Marine Science concentrating in Marine Biology. I also have my B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Evolution and a minor in Environmental Science. My current research revolves around GIS & Spatial Ecology, elucidating drivers behind invasive macroalgae blooms, and coral disease.
Ecology

Ecology

I am currently an M.S. Candidate in Marine Science concentrating in Marine Biology. I also have my B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Evolution and a minor in Environmental Science. My current research revolves around GIS & Spatial Ecology, elucidating drivers behind invasive macroalgae blooms, and coral disease.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

My undergraduate studies in biology were concentrated in ecology and evolution whilst I also pursued a minor in environmental science. My current research also has a strong focus on anthropogenic influence on coral reef ecosystems. I am currently analyzing the impact of anthropogenic nutrient input on SE Florida reefs from inlet outflow, elucidating the appearance of a unprecedented macroalgae bloom. I am also currently participating in research that is analyzing anthropogenic urban water runoff on coral disease prevalence.
