Hi! My name is Galia, and I’ve been tutoring Bar Mitzvah students and Hebrew learners since 2019. I specialize in preparing students aged 11 to 13 for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah through personalized, one-on-one instruction that focuses on Hebrew reading fluency, Torah and Haftarah trope, and speech preparation. Whether your child is learning Hebrew for the first time or building on existing knowledge, I tailor each lesson to meet them where they are — with warmth, patience, and clarity.

I’ve worked with students from a variety of backgrounds, including interfaith families and those new to synagogue life. My tutoring is grounded in years of hands-on experience and deep familiarity with Jewish texts and tradition. I take pride in helping students not only master their portion but feel confident and connected to what they’re reading. I aim to make the learning process meaningful — not just memorization, but real understanding and pride in this important milestone.

I’m currently a joint degree student at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary majoring in Cognitive Science and Jewish Ethics. I bring a thoughtful and engaging academic approach to each session. I’ve worked with students in both virtual and in-person settings, and I’m committed to creating a supportive and low-pressure learning environment.
