I am a physiologist who has spent nearly 50 years teaching physiology to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. I mentored 21 Ph.D. students at Penn State, and 7 doctoral students at St. George's University. I have a Penn State University College of Science Outstanding Teacher Award and a College of Science undergraduate scholarship in my name.

I love physiology and am passionate about helping students learn and understand physiology. I've spent a major part of my life doing this in classrooms and my office. I am still receiving "Thank You" notes from students who took a class of mine many years ago. Not all students learn the same way, and I pride myself on being able to help students learn physiology through using which ever method works best for that person. Active learning is the best way to get to understand physiology, and I use a variety of active learning techniques to instill a working knowledge of physiology in each student.
