Hello! I am Halina. My expertise is in Biological Sciences, having graduated with a Master's in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences. Although my background is in the science field, I do have a passion for the Spanish language. As a native Spanish speaker, I have experienced first hand the importance of truly being bilingual and mastering both languages. I took AP Spanish in high school and was very successful passing the exam on the high end of the scoring scale. I am currently a certified Spanish medical translator, which in turn has been an excellent way of merging both my love for science and Spanish, while helping those in need. In the past, I volunteered as a virtual reading tutor for kids in elementary and middle school, once a week for several months. I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to make a positive impact in a child's life, specifically when it comes to their education. Currently, I volunteer as a co-teacher in religious studies for high school students in a physical classroom setting. Whether it's in an online or in-person setting, I strive for my class sessions to be engaging; I incorporate educational games or short videos to make the class more dynamic. When it comes to my tutoring approach, I like to give students an opportunity to participate and ask me questions, while I ask questions to them as well, to make sure we are on the same page and the material is being understood. I understand that every individual has their own way of learning and comprehending the material. As a result, I believe that teaching methods/approaches should be tailored to each student.
