I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). I worked in public accounting (external auditing) for over three and a half years, where I served on engagements pertaining to a wide variety of clients, ranging from public companies with over $100 million of revenue to small private start-up companies. I have also been working as an internal auditor at a large public company for eight months. In this role, I am responsible for performing and overseeing the testing of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Florida and my Master of Accounting degree from the University of Miami. I would also like to add that I passed each of my professional certification exams- CPA, CMA, CFE- on the first try and will strive to pass along knowledge of good study habits to all of my prospective students.

I have also been serving as an adjunct professor for international students at United International College in Miramar, Florida, where I have taught Principles of Accounting and Entrepreneurial Finance (two separate classes) for roughly four semesters. The student body at United International College includes many students from Latin America. From my experience as an adjunct professor, I have been able to successfully work with and mentor students who have difficulty speaking and understanding English and am able to break down complex topics into manageable and easy-to-learn components. In order to accomplish this, I prefer to work through examples in class and use visual techniques, rather than relying solely on audio techniques, to help get my points across.

I am eager to become a part of the Wyzant team and use my passion for mentorship and accounting to help prepare the next generation of accountants and business leaders for success.
