I began my career teaching ESL, taught overseas for a year in Ankara, Turkey and loved it, and then made the leap to high school. This is the time period I achieved my National Board Certification and maintained it ever since. I spent the first few years teaching tenth grade English and then AP English Literature, and now I primarily teaching AP English Language. I've mastered copious strategies for students to succeed in all aspects of English instruction. I am an AP Reader and my students regularly surpass the state and national pass rates.
My passions have extended to working with high school students to prepare their applications and essays to get into college. I love developing the perfect college essay for students, and can easily walk everyone through the college application process. Whether you are 16 or 20, I can ease you in to the process of college applications.
I have an extensive toolbox of strategies we can use to make you the best writer possible. Most importantly, I want it to be fun. There's no reason for learning to be boring. I enjoy watching students succeed and look forward to working with you.
