I am a certified Teacher in Hawaii and Florida with a reading endorsement.

I went to school at the University of Oregon and University of Hawaii achieving my bachelor's degree in Psychology and an advanced professional certificate in special education. I'm also a certified Barton reading and spelling program tutor.

I have worked in both special education and the general education classrooms for 20 years. I love children and love making a difference in their lives by helping them to read and understand the rules of language. I have been using the Barton program since September of this year and recently got certified. I have also been trained in IMSE another Orton-Gillingham program.
I have now been working with 11 students with the Barton program and I have seen great progress with every single one of my students.
I am excited to work with you and/or your children and making sure that they achieve their full potential. Dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence it is simply a different way of learning how to read. People with dyslexia have many strengths as well as challenges and I like to focus on the strengths and help them become the best person they can be.
