I am a certified teacher with a degree in Elementary Education (K–6), along with certifications in Exceptional Student Education (K–12) and Middle Grades Math (5–9). I also have experience teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry, with a 100% passing rate on state End-of-Course (EOC) exams. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Florida and am a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Over the course of my career, I have taught first grade for 8 years, third grade for 2 years, and middle school math including grades 7–8, Algebra, and Geometry. I have a deep understanding of math standards across grade levels, from early elementary through high school coursework.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience working with students in one-on-one tutoring and small group settings. I have supported a wide range of learners, including students who need intervention and those who are gifted and seeking enrichment. I also have experience preparing students for the FAST assessment and helping them build the skills and confidence needed to perform successfully. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down concepts into clear, manageable steps, using strategies that make math accessible and meaningful for each student.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine strong content knowledge with effective instructional strategies. I quickly identify gaps in understanding and tailor each session to meet the individual needs of the student, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead. My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills, but also to build their confidence so they can approach math with a more positive and capable mindset.
