I have been enjoying photography as a serious pastime since I was 10 years old. Beginning with a simple film camera and advancing over the years through 35mm photography, and today of course using digital cameras, I’ve been photographing for over 40 years. I studied at the Art Institute (in Atlanta at that time), I taught photography in college and I have been a member of and have run several camera clubs. In my personal work, I enjoy landscape, travel and portrait photography.

My approach is to teach you camera technique as well as composition. If you want to know how (and when) to use more than just the "auto" settings on your camera, use of RAW and JPEG image formats, mastering "depth of field", color and black and white photography, and the elements of composition and how to "see" a photo, consider me for your tutoring needs. I have a lot of Lightroom and Photoshop experience, as well as with plug-ins such as Topaz and Nik, so for those students interested, I can offer tutoring in post-processing your photos.

Whether you are a beginner with a “point-and-shoot” camera, or have just bought your first DSLR, learning to go beyond simple “auto” settings with your camera can bring you the ability to bring home outstanding photos from your family events and travel photography, whether you are on vacation or simply in your own backyard.
