I have studied the Bible for the last 20 years in a group setting and also individually. The Bible is a regular part of my quiet time in the mornings. I have participated in an intense Bible study program that has helped me over the years become familiar with the Bible. I would love to work with others to read and understand the Bible through bible study and tutoring.

I have been teaching students with the Common Core Strategies for several years. My students have transitioned from one school to another smoothly due to the Common Core based curriculum. I have been teaching and tutoring students from K-12th grade for the last 20 years. As a teacher/tutor, establishing effective learning strategies is vital. In the Elementary grades, I identify the child's learning style and teach towards their strengths to build confidence. At the same time, I use the student's strengths to work on and improve the areas which need improvement. A goal I have for each of my students is to pass on a love for learning - so that they continue learning after I leave! Utilizing creative teaching strategies as well as building an encouraging relationship with my students is paramount to my success as a tutor.

I have been teaching and tutoring English for many years. Most of my students are middle schoolers who are reluctant to learn. I focused on getting my student interested in the material so that they can learn easier and build confidence. This way they can learn much quicker on their own. I love to write and have a proven strategy to improve my student’s essays with simple methods.

I have over 15 years experience teaching Homeschooled students through homeschooling my own children to high school and professionally tutoring homeschool students. Char prepped my daughter for the upcoming FSA tests, using different methods. She connected well with my daughter, kept her focused throughout her 2 hour session and encouraged her/helped build her confidence with testing. Looking forward to more sessions with Char.
