Hi, I’m David, a lifelong drummer and dedicated educator with over 20 years of hands-on experience behind the kit. While I don’t come from a traditional academic music background, I’ve built my career through years of performance, practice and passion for the craft. I began playing drums as a toddler, learned to read music in the 6th grade, and spent my high school years performing in marching, jazz, and concert ensembles. In 2016, I was awarded a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music’s Five-Week Summer Program and was also selected for the GRAMMY Foundation’s GRAMMY Camp in Nashville, where I trained alongside talented young musicians from across the country.
Since then, I’ve worked as a full-time drummer based in Central Florida, performing and recording with artists across a wide range of genres, from rock and funk to jazz, blues, pop, and world music. I’ve played hundreds of gigs at bars, clubs, and festivals, toured throughout Florida and the Midwest, and contributed to several studio albums — including one that reached #8 on the Billboard Blues Chart. My experience on stage and in the studio has shaped my approach to both playing and teaching.
For the past three years, I’ve been teaching drums at a local music school, working with students ages 6 to 18. My teaching style is flexible and down-to-earth, focused on developing strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and personalized. Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, I aim to share the real-world tools, techniques, and mindset that have helped me thrive as a professional musician.
