I also owned a marketing company for a decade which great from $0 to over $1 million. Perhaps, but my career as an educator, writer, business owner, and C-Suite executive helps high school and university students gain reading and writing skills. Armed with little self-confidence and undergraduate social science and English degree from Florida State University, I started as a low-level copy-writer. One job leads to another and finally, I was the Creative Director of an Advertising Agency. Years later, I started a Communications Agency working with such clients as Twentieth Century Fox, Kraft General Foods, Circle K and Gatorade. My success was due to my creative writing and ability to relate to clients. I was fortunate to land the Cleveland Clinic account and loved the healthcare environment. One job led to another and my finale was a member of a C-Suite in charge of marketing and communication in a 1500 bed hospital. As a hobby, I started to mentor high school teachers in English. I taught writing, public speaking and grammar. Quickly, I learned my passion was not in business but teaching. I took all the writing courses I could find and applied to the authorship graduate program at UC Berkeley. I was honored and shocked when I received the acceptance letter. For two rigorous years, I studied grammar, composition, social media, public relations, feature writing, etc. I learned that before this Master's program, I was not a writer. After the course, I am a writer. I needed schooling in tutoring and coaching. I took and passed the Harvard Certification for Rhetoric and persuasive writing and speech. I became a certified teacher and life coach. I spent one year learning how to teach students with English as a second language. Training and education aside, I was able to take my experience and ability to relate to high school and university students and put it to the test. I have helped over 75 students improved their writing
