I have been a professional tutor since 2004, working with students from elementary school through college. In addition to Wyzant, I am also associated with a local tutoring agency, and recently helped a HS senior improve her SAT score by 210 points with just eight hours of tutoring!

I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and then my MBA at Rutgers University. I can help with many subjects - but my true specialty is helping kids and young adults finally "get" math. If your kid hates math, or is convinced they just can't do it, I can change that.

I have also completed reading clinician training through Lindamood-Bell, and have delivered hundreds of hours of intensive reading remediation to students aged 7-24. My intervention addresses both decoding issues and comprehension.

I was a tutor for three years at Lynn University, and in that time I discovered how many students get all the way through high school without a good foundation in math. They learn the steps to follow, but never really understand what they are doing or why it is working - the result is that they get promoted, and are totally lost the next year.

My work with students with learning differences has given me the ability to adapt to many different learning styles. I can quickly assess what is and is not working for a particular student, and tailor my instruction to their specific needs. My tutoring sessions are highly interactive and use a lot of visual materials, because I have found that it is the best way to build confidence and help students retain what they learn. I will come to your home, or we can meet up at Starbucks or a library.
